Just as the Seoul Olympics were held at this very stadium in 1988, this stadium is expected to be overflowing with150,000 citizens of the world who support and work towards world peace in their respective communities. This is an exceptional event because it is the first time the Shinchonji Olympiad is open to the public as it is co-hosted with the largest volunteer organization in South Korea, Mannam.
This festival is supported by the Ministry of Unification, Qatar Airways, Woongjin Chemical and numerous international communities. The famous card section performance known throughout the world is to be performed at the event. Consisting of 12,000 individuals, it is to demonstrate their unified hearts in sharing this message of peace for the world. Another highlight of the opening ceremony is to be the mass games performance of 2,000 people creating incredible formations to tell the story of the history of the Bible.
Since this festival is to be held in Korea, the program is filled with traditional Korean performances by various age groups to display the beauty of the host nation. However, because this is the event to show a new culture, the culture of heaven, it is not limited to celebrating merely one culture, it is to exhibit the beauty of all cultures of the world. Hence, the International Division of Mannam Volunteer Association has prepared an impressive line up of performers of diverse nationalities, languages, and belief systems.
This Olympiad would not be complete without a sports competition. There is to be various sporting events involving the 12 tribes of Shinchonji along with the international members of Mannam.
